Shattered Glass was written to honor and remember all of those who suffered abuse at the hands of God's anointed. It is particularly in memory of a young victim I met who carried about with him a scrap book of how he was trying to put together his life after abuse. I saw a beautiful child of God and told my wife he reminded me of a stained glass window. Broken pieces yet still beautiful. When the Pennsylvania Senate failed to pass legislation for victims he took his own life. Others have allowed the Sacraments of Christ's church to heal their wounds. For all of His children I pray their wounds are healed and they find the love of Christ again.
I was almost asleep and touched my wife's hand and heard her gentle sigh. It made me think of how a man longs to reach out and touch the hand of a beautiful woman. It is a good woman who helps shape a good man.
I reached over, grabbed my phone and wrote this song before I fell asleep.
Almost all of the religious songs were inspired right before or after mass and were written within 5 to 10 minutes in the pew. Several came during adoration and this song reminded me of the great gift and opportunity to just sit with my God. To bathe in His love.
Many songs were inspired by feast days. On all Saints day I heard God ask for a song about His saints. This is one of my favorites.
